Velia Kennedy is the Owner and Founder of Modern Family Travel®, an award-winning travel agency built on the belief that every family’s story deserves a tailor-made adventure. After beginning her career as a travel advisor while balancing a full-time corporate job and family life, Velia discovered her passion for crafting meaningful, stress-free travel experiences that reflect her clients’ values and dreams.
What started as a solo venture has grown into a nationally recognized agency known for its inclusivity, integrity, and exceptional service. Under Velia’s leadership, Modern Family Travel® has earned multiple honors, including ASTA’s 2024 Travel Advisor of the Year and Main Line Parent’s LOVE Award for Best Travel Agency in both 2023 and 2024, 40 Under 40 by Travel Weekly 2024, Family Favorite on the Main Line 2025, among other recognitions.
Velia is passionate about helping other travel professionals find alignment in their own businesses, encouraging them to quiet the noise, stay rooted in their beliefs, and build success through authenticity rather than comparison. Through transparency and heart, she inspires others to grow in a way that feels purposeful, sustainable, and true to who they are.
When she’s not leading her team or curating dream vacations, Velia loves spending time with her husband and two children, dancing around the house, and singing along to Taylor Swift. She believes joy and connection are the real souvenirs of every great adventure.
