My Daughter Just Dropped Out of College, and I Couldn’t Be More Proud of Her

Let me start with this, my daughter maintained a 5.2 GPA through high school. She crushed her first year at Texas A&M as a pre-law student. By every traditional measure, she was doing everything “right.” She was on the path the world says is safe, smart, and respectable.

But here’s what most people didn’t know.

Music has been calling her since she was a baby.

She’s been singing for as long as I can remember.

She started writing songs at 12 years old.

She loved performing at her high school’s open mics, and anywhere she could share her gift.

And while we always supported her, told her she could choose music if she wanted to, she made the decision to pursue a law degree. Why? Because like so many high-achieving young adults, she thought it might be the more viable, more secure path.

But the music kept calling. And this summer, she finally answered.

She started posting her songs on TikTok; and yes, she applied all the same strategies we teach at Wanderlust Campus (because marketing is marketing when it’s done right!). And guess what? She blew up. One viral video turned into two, then thousands of new followers, then a community, then momentum… and now, she’s signed with a label.

Instead of packing up for her second year of college, she’s in the studio recording original music, stepping fully into her dream.

Watching it unfold has been emotional in the best way. It feels like witnessing divine alignment. She’s not just chasing a dream. She is the dream. She was made for this.

There’s something incredibly sacred about watching someone come into alignment with their life’s purpose. I get to witness that every day with our students at Wanderlust Campus, brave souls starting their travel businesses, building lives of passion and freedom. But this… this is my daughter. And seeing her begin to blaze her own trail is a privilege beyond words.

Here’s what I know for sure, and maybe the part I’m most proud of:

Me following my dreams paved the way for her to follow hers.

By building a life of purpose, passion, and possibility, we as parents gave her permission to do the same.

We didn’t just tell her she could do it.

We showed her.

Because kids don’t do what you say.

They model what you do.

They internalize your energy, your example, your courage.

Bella was just 3 when we became full-time entrepreneurs. She’s grown up watching what it takes; the late nights, the big leaps, the belief required to go after something that doesn’t come with a roadmap. She knows that success isn’t handed to you. It’s earned with vision, heart, and relentless commitment.

And now, she’s ready. She’s doing it. And as parents, we know in our bones: we’ve done our job.

So, to every parent out there, hear this loud and clear:

You have a responsibility to chase your own dreams.

Because when you do, you’re not just building a life you love…

You’re giving your kids permission to do the same.

And that? That’s the legacy.

P.S. Bella’s first single “The Sick” dropped today!
